Canadian Automobile Association: Helping Aging Drivers

Introduction

As Canada's population gets older, the challenges faced by aging drivers will touch the lives of more and more Canadians.

By 2026, one in every five Canadian drivers will be over the age of 65. While age is not necessarily an indicator of driving skill or ability, it can bring new challenges, which must be addressed to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.

CAA wants every aging driver to be a safe driver — starting with you or someone you love. This Web site, along with services and programs available in your local area, will help aging drivers drive safely and, when appropriate, know when to restrict or stop driving.
