What CAA is doing

Here are some of our recent initiatives:
  • September 29—CAA's community leaders from across Canada gather on Parliament Hill to bring the message of Warning Signs to our elected officials
  • September 29—the document Warning Signs: Canada's deteriorating roads and highways is released to MPs
  • November 2, 2004—CAA volunteer board members meet with MPs  and government officials on the state of Canada's roads and highways
  • October 1, 2004—Safer Drivers in Safer Vehicles on Safer Roads released

As the voice of Canada's drivers, with approximately 4.7 million members, CAA is calling for action from the federal government in the form of sustainable funding and a long-term plan to restore and maintain our National Highway System.

Poor road conditions affect the health and safety of Canadians, and have a negative impact on our trade, economy, tourism and environment. Motorists deserve a fair deal—safer roads in return for the taxes they pay on gasoline—and CAA is making their voices heard in Ottawa.
