EV Incentives = Affordability

Public and private incentive programs help make it easier to afford an electric vehicle (EV).

Federal

British Columbia

Government of British Columbia

In addition to federal incentives, BC’s Go Electric program provides rebates of as much as:

  • $3,000 for the purchase or lease of a new electric vehicle, including longer-range plug-in hybrids, and
  • $1,500 for the purchase or lease of a shorter-range plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.

Quebec

In addition to federal incentives, Quebecers may be eligible for rebates of up to $8,000 on EVs under $60,000. 

Ontario

Ontario drivers can access two incentives offered by Plug’n Drive:

  • The Used EV Incentive Program provides $1,000 toward the purchase of a used fully electric car and $500 toward the purchase of a used plug-in hybrid.
  • The Scrappage Incentive Program offers $1,000 toward the purchase of a used fully electric or plug-in hybrid electric car when you scrap your old gas-powered car.

Home charging-station incentives

ChargeHub.ca provides a list of incentives for the installation of home charging stations across Canada. Rebates vary depending on your location.

Nova Scotia

Government of Nova Scotia

In addition to federal incentives, Nova Scotians may be eligible for rebates of $3,000 per new vehicle, $2,000 for used vehicles and $500 for e-bikes.
