OTTAWA – Over 20 of Canada’s top automotive journalists are highlighting eco-friendly technologies during a three-day rally down Canada’s busiest highway, and the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) is proud to be a title sponsor.
The Brighton to London Eco-Run started today and runs through Thursday under the auspices of the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC).
Vehicles highlighted include hybrid, electric, and highly fuel-efficient conventional engines. The rally will stop at several colleges and universities that are developing new auto technologies.
“Our Members tell us that they want CAA to be a source of information, and an advocate with policymakers, on reducing the environmental impact of driving,” said Jeff Walker, vice president of Public Affairs at CAA National. “Our balanced approach at CAA encourages preserving the environment while also maintaining personal mobility and offering Canadians options to be more eco-conscious drivers while also helping them save at the pump.”
CAA, through CAA South Central Ontario and CAA National, is pleased to be a sponsor to help promote industry development of more fuel efficient options, which will help save consumers money and help protect the environment.
Currently, CAA SCO is running its annual CAA Autogreen Online Challenge which is designed as a forum for people to blog about their environmental commitments, take daily eco-driving quizzes, and share their eco-driving tips with other drivers, all for a chance to win great prizes. CAA SCO has partnered with Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS), Trees Ontario, and Plug ‘n Drive to promote this initiative. The contest runs until May 25th and more information is available at CAASCO.com/community.
